The Polk Emerging Leadership Awards for young professionals are taking nominations through June 4.

The awards annually recognize five young professionals from across Polk County who are making significant contributions to the community. This is the 10th year for the awards, hosted by three young professional groups across the county – Emerge Lakeland, Endeavor Winter Haven, and Engage Bartow.

The Bartow, Winter Haven and Lakeland Chambers of Commerce provide support for the awards.

Past recipients from the two previous years include Kathryn Bevilacqua-Ely with Publix, Sarah Breed with the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, Suzanne Halverson with Polk State College and Jillian Spangler with Peterson & Myers.

To apply for the award or to nominate someone, visit the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce page.

Candidates must be between 21 and 42 years old and have made a commitment to their communities.

During the annual awards ceremony, visitors will have the opportunity to network with outstanding young professionals and established business leaders. Past winners include those who have worked in journalism, communications, with nonprofits like the Boys & Girls Club and Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine.
