In honor of actress Betty White, Hillsborough pet adoption fees are waived until May. The Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center is continuing the #BettyWhiteChallenge they started in January.
The actress died shortly before her 100th birthday on December 31, 2021. She was a lifelong animal right activist. Fans created a viral campaign online with the #BettyWhiteChallenge that encouraged people to donate money to animal rescues and nonprofits.
Hillsborough County’s Pet Resource Center decided to honor her memory and dedication to animals by waiving all pet adoption fees in January. The waiving of fees was so successful they are going to continue through May 11. All dogs and cats at the shelter are micro-chipped, vaccinated, registered, and spayed or neutered.
The Pet Resource Center is located 440 North Falkenburg, Tampa, FL 33619. It is open from 10am-5pm, Monday through Saturday. It’s strongly suggested to make an appointment before visiting. Visit their website to search adoptable pets.
