Enjoy Music in the Museum At Henry B. Plant Museum

On the third Thursday of each month, the Henry B. Plant Museum is hosting a morning classical music performance to all patrons of the museum. Performances begin at 11 a.m. and feature different performers from all over Tampa Bay. This new concert series not only adds to the ambiance of the museum, but is providing a unique opportunity for Tampa’s musical talent to shine.

Live concerts were the most popular daily entertainment at the Tampa Bay hotel, and Music in the Museum restores this authentic tradition.Enjoy the sounds of the harp, guitar, or violin as you explore the Museum. This program is included with admission to the Museum.

While exploring the museum, you’ll be able to experience and learn about turn-of-the-century America and the vision of American transportation pioneer Henry B. Plant. The museum is housed in the 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel, a National Historic Landmark that depicts the true life of Henry B. Plant and the elegance of the period.

The music selections are a part of the museum’s current Truist Community Connection series. The songs and performers selected are aimed at reflecting the period of the museum and current exhibits, as well as the authentic flavor of 19th-century Florida.

Past performers have included: John Barr (classical guitar), Damara Besker (harp), Marlena Noland (violin), Susana Szakacs (violin).
