Mayor’s Youth Corps in Tampa Recruiting Class of 2023

Teens wanting to give back to their community and looking for a glimpse into the workings of City Hall can apply for seats on the Mayor’s Youth Corps in Tampa.
 
The City is hosting a virtual session to provide students and parents with more information about the Youth Corps. It will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. Potential applicants must participate in this free meeting.
 
The Corps is comprised of students in grades 9, 10, or 11 who live in Tampa or attend a high school in Tampa. People can start applying now for one-year terms.  

Applications are available on the City of Tampa Mayor’s Youth Corps webpage. People can apply until October 20, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. Members of the Youth Leadership Council review the applications, conduct interviews, and make recommendations regarding acceptance into the program.

Youth Corps members learn about and participate in city government. This includes meeting with Mayor Castor, conducting community service projects, participating in conferences, and running social media platforms. Teens also learn leadership and employability skills while serving in the Youth Corps.  
 
The Mayor’s Youth Corps lets Tampa teensengage with city leaders, participate in their community, connect with their peers, and learn about civics and city government. It is an incredible opportunity that will give them experience and know-how to help their community.
