The Black Business Bus Tour will celebrate its 15th year in the Tampa Bay area with a full weekend of activities beginning Friday, June 25 with Happy Hour at Rose Bar in South Tampa.

The celebration continues Saturday, June 26, with a celebratory breakfast at Al’s Finger Lickin’ Good Soul Food from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, with the main event that evening at Open Café in East Tampa. The evening, which runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., will be a time to celebrate 15 years in service.

The Black Business Bus Tour celebrates small black-owned businesses in the Tampa area.

“It’s a huge economic empowerment time,” said TBBJ President and Founder Candy Lowe. “From day one, our tune has not changed. Anybody can ride the bus, but we only go to small, Black-owned businesses.” This time around, there will not be an actual bus tour, but there are plenty more planned for later dates.

The businesses showcased on the tour are those that often get overlooked for loans and other support, Lowe said. “This is an opportunity to bring awareness to them and go out to support them…We are very grateful to the City of Tampa for leading the country in supporting its Black-owned businesses”.
