Applications Open for CareerSource PAYS

The program, which will be called CareerSource P.A.Y.S. (Preparing Area Youth for Success), provides a hands-on learning experience that pays competitive wages in high demand industries.

CareerSource Pinellas today announced they are opening applications for a new paid work experience program for young adults. The program, which will be called CareerSource PAYS (Preparing Area Youth for Success), provides a hands-on learning experience that pays competitive wages in high demand industries.

“It can be hard for young people to find employment opportunities that offer a pathway to job security and financial stability. This is a foot in the door for them to obtain those benefits while preparing them with the skills our targeted industries demand,” said Steven Meier, Interim CEO of CareerSource Pinellas.

Additional opportunities for CareerSource PAYS participants:

  • Paid training leading to certification in fields such as certified nursing assistant, lineman worker, commercial driver’s license/truck driving, welding, and more
  • Job readiness training
  • Job-related supportive services (assistance with tools, clothing, and transportation)
  • Connection with careers leading to self sufficiency

Applicants must be between 18-24 and living in Pinellas County. Students currently enrolled in high school are not eligible. Household income limits may also apply.
