CareerSource Pinellas recently announced the appointment of four new members and the re-appointment of seven members to its workforce development board. CareerSource Pinellas is a workforce board responsible for workforce planning, programs, and the labor market in Pinellas County. The new members were approved at the June 21 Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners meeting.
The CareerSource Pinellas Board of Directors is business-led and includes representation from diverse industries, communities, education, workforce development, community partners, and human service agencies.

“We are excited for the newest CareerSource Pinellas board members to lend us fresh insight into how we can better serve both jobseekers and businesses in our community,” said Scott Thomas, Board Chair of CareerSource Pinellas. “This is a challenging moment for workforce development locally: Pinellas County’s unemployment rate is currently lower than both the Tampa Bay region and Florida, and we know local businesses face unprecedented difficulties in filling positions. We are constantly looking for innovative ways to assist businesses in meeting their workforce needs and help Pinellas County residents build satisfying, well-paying careers.”
