Destination Tech: CareerSource Pinellas Teaches How to Break Into A Career in the Tech Space 

CareerSource Pinellas, Pinellas Tech Network (PTN) and Computer Coach IT Training will host an upcoming Tech Resume Workshop tailored for individuals aiming to break into the tech workforce. Participants can bring their resumes to have an expert review and offer feedback so they stand out and obtain a career in the tech space.   

Training senior workforce training strategist Kasandra Perez will deliver an engaging presentation on technology career development, providing individuals with keen insight into how to establish themselves in this growing industry.

Tech industry jobs are in high demand in Florida. According to CompTIA’s annual State of the Tech Workforce national report, Florida had the largest year-over-year increase of net new tech business establishments at 3.8 percent growth from 2023 to 2024.   

Technology jobs in Pinellas

According to FloridaCommerce, tech-related jobs are three of the top ten fastest-growing occupations in Pinellas County.

  • #2: Data scientists, predicted to grow 33.9 percent from 5,526 openings in 2023 to 7,397 openings in 2031 with a median hourly wage of $48.33 
  • #4: Information security analysts, predicted to grow 31 percent from 10,852 openings (2023) to 14,212 openings (2031) with a median hourly wage of $51.17 
  • #6: Software developers, predicted to grow 26.3 percent from 71,172 openings (2023) to 89,892 openings (2031) with a median hourly wage of $51.56
