Florida Nonprofit Alliance publishes report on COVID-19 and nonprofits

The Florida Nonprofit Alliance has conducted a study on the impact of COVID-19 on nonprofits. The report, Closing Out the Year: COVID-19 Effects on Florida Nonprofits in 2020, is based on the responses of over 1,000 nonprofit organizations around the state.

The report revealed that many nonprofits share significant concerns regarding financial stability and revenue loss. 64% of responding organizations reported concerns over revenue losses. 59% of respondents reported concerns over funding for this year and the future and 69% reported reduced fundraising success in 2020 compared to 2019. Funding/fundraising and program operations were identified as the biggest challenges being faced by nonprofits adapting to the realities of COVID-19.

In another interesting finding, the report indicated that nonprofits are generally feeling slightly better or the same as they did in July regarding optimism about the future. Only 14% reported feeling very concerned about closing their doors in 2021.

The survey was collected at the end of last year and was conducted electronically.
