The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts (FMoPA) is pleased to announce the museum’s upcoming move to Ybor City in 2023. The new gallery space will feature over 3,000 square feet of exhibition space, including a separate Community Gallery. This new location will offer visitors a ground-floor entrance from the historic 7th Avenue Ybor Citywalk, a gift shop, and space for lectures and Artist Talks.
FMoPA made the move in order to better serve the Tampa Bay community. And share the power of photography with a wider audience. With a larger gallery space and attractive location within the Ybor arts community, the FMoPA hopes to build a cornerstone of creativity and art appreciation within its home of Tampa Bay.

FMoPA Moving to Ybor City
In order to complete the construction of the museum space, the FMoPA is reaching out to current and interested donors to help fundraise up to $500,000 for Q1.
This will help with:
- The safe relocation of over 1,300 images in FMoPA’s permanent collection.
- Transformation of the space into a suitable and welcoming environment for visitors.
- Updating marketing and outreach materials related to the new location.
The estimated budget for construction alone is over $150,000. However, the FMoPA is hoping to raise an additional $350,000. This will help create a successful launch of the museum. With updated marketing material, new exhibits, and more for the artists and visitors of the museum.
From the FMoPA:
“We are grateful for the support of donors and sponsors, and FMoPA hopes that they will consider investing in the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts as the museum embarks on its exciting new chapter. Donors and sponsors can expect a strong return on their investment, as your support will bring quality name recognition in the new location as well as on all marketing materials for the foreseeable future. We look forward to continuing to serve the Tampa Bay community and to bringing the power of photography to even more people.”
