Fourth Friday Returns to Riverwalk

Fourth Friday, an arts and cultural crawl featuring live music, food and drink, is back along the Riverwalk.

“Fourth Friday is a perfect outdoor family event, showcasing some of the area’s best musicians and artists at some of our most popular cultural attractions,” said Tampa Downtown Partnership President and CEO Lynda Remund. “Residents and Downtown businesses have been asking when Fourth Friday would be returning, and we are excited to say the wait is now over.”

The event is sponsored by the partnership and Tampa Electric Company. On the fourth Friday of each month, there will be free musical performances and various activities and Tampa’s arts and cultural venues along the Riverwalk.

The Straz Center for the Performing Arts, the Henry B. Plant Museum, Sparkman Warf and the Sail Plaza all plan to participate.

The event, which began in 2015, shut down in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Previously, it was an arts and culture crawl in downtown, a little in Ybor City and some of Hyde Park,” said event coordinator Ivy Lupco. It has since been revamped and is all on the Riverwalk to give it more consistency.

“There is also an incentive program with a punch card,” she said. Those who complete the punch card receive downtown swag and are entered into a drawing for a downtown staycation.

Food and drink specials will be offered from various participating venues as part of the Sip & Stroll aspect of Fourth Friday. Alcohol consumption will be allowed in specially approved vendor cups when purchased at one of the eight venues.
