The “Mecca of Bodybuilding” will open this fall. Gold’s Gym Tampa Gas Worx will occupy space in a 25,000-square-foot Flatiron building located just south of Four Green Fields. This building, owned by local developer Darryl Shaw, is undergoing a renovation into a state-of-the-art strength training gym with indoor/outdoor training spaces, much like the brand’s Venice Beach flagship location.

Founded in 1965, Gold’s Gym has a legacy of serious strength training and go-to destination for bodybuilders, fitness enthusiasts, and celebrities alike. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Phil Heath, and Jay Cutler have perfected their craft at Gold’s. Kimberlee Curtis, local Tampa resident, and her business partners will be opening Gold’s Gym Tampa Gas Worx later this year in downtown Tampa, offering the same top-quality equipment and facilities that make Gold’s Gym an internationally known fitness brand.
“With Kimberlee’s visionary leadership, this gym is more than just a place to workout. It is helping to create a vibrant and inclusive urban community. And it’s not just about fitness. It’s about the health and well-being of the entire community,” said Darryl Shaw, Gas Worx Developer.

The new Tampa gym will feature German-engineered and built equipment by Gym80. The facility will have specialty equipment rooms, posing studio, smoothie bar, pro shop, personal training, and luxury locker rooms. There will also be an upgraded membership option for use of a private lounge/co-working space.
