Prior to joining the Plant Museum, Huban worked at the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples and the historic Red Cross National Headquarters. She earned her bachelor’s in history and music from Eckerd College and a master’s in history from American University.

“I am thrilled to lead the Plant Museum, which truly is a gem in the Tampa Bay area,” Huban said.

Under Huban’s leadership, the museum, which will celebrate its 90-year anniversary in November, opened a new exhibit, “Imagines East: Decorative Arts and the Imperial Gaze.”

“It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with such dedicated staff and volunteers. I look forward to continued growth and success,” Huban said.

Huban is a member of the Florida Association of Museums Foundation Board of Trustees and Leadership Tampa, class of 2023.

“Over the past several years, and particularly this year, I have worked very closely with Lindsay on all aspects of the museum. I love her passion for this Tampa treasure and her exciting vision for the future. We are lucky to have her as our new executive director,” said Kathy Durdin, the museum’s Board of Trustees president.

Huban succeeds executive director Cynthia Gandee Zinober. She retired in 2022 after more than 30 years of leading the Plant Museum.
