Over the next three years, HSP, a technology-enabled global business services firm, is adding hundreds of high-quality jobs to Tampa. HSP is moving its corporate headquarters from Naples to Tampa and will begin hiring in the first quarter of 2022.
The company will initially open in a co-working space and the jobs will focus on recent college graduates. Some roles include personnel, international business consulting, human resources specialists, financial managers, paralegals, legal assistants and sales and support.
Why HSP chose Tampa
The company chose Tampa for its global headquarters because it’s a great location for personnel stationed around the world. It’s an area when people meet and collaborate, according to the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Council.
“Tampa offers everything we were looking for in a headquarters location—a place where our team can easily travel in and out of, both domestically and internationally, while also offering an unparalleled quality of life and access to top talent,” said Larry Harding, Founder and CEO of HSP Group. “We were so impressed with Tampa during our visit that this was an easy decision to make. We’re excited to plant our roots here, become a part of the dynamic business ecosystem that is here, and grow with this amazing city.”
The company launched last year but because it started during the global COVID-19 pandemic; it did not immediately seek to establish a headquarters office. Now the company has personnel and offices in New York, Boston, San Francisco, Barcelona, the Philippines and London. The company sought to establish a home base where it could hire and train new professionals. It’s also a great location where executives from all of its offices can gather as needed.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor loved the news. “HSP Group is the latest global company to instantly recognize the business advantages and excellent quality of life that Tampa offers,” she said. “We are excited to welcome another new corporate headquarters to Tampa, and we thank HSP Group for their investment and confidence in our community.”
Other companies moving to Tampa
According to the EDC, the finance and insurance industry in the Tampa Metropolitan Statistical Area has grown by 18% over the past five years. The EDC expects such growth to continue over the next five years. Eventually, this would have the region outpacing both the state and national growth rates.
HSP is adding hundreds of jobs in Tampa, but they aren’t the only company. Others include:
- OPSWAT. A fast-growing cybersecurity software company which relocated its headquarters to Tampa in January 2021. The company touts itself as a leader in critical infrastructure protection.
- Signode Industrial Group. The transit packaging division of Crown Holdings Inc., relocated to Tampa from Illinois in September. The Tampa office houses executives, senior and mid-level managers, IT and several other roles.
- Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. They chose Tampa for its corporate headquarters in April. The company chose Tampa so it could improve its collaboration with the marine industry. IT also wants to strengthen its relationships with boat builders and vendors.
- Genesis Systems, LLC. The company focuses on advanced technology to solve the global water scarcity. It plans to relocate from Kansas City to Tampa. Here, it will launch its first line of products to create water “out of thin air.”
“Genesis vetted multiple cities across the country to answer which city would provide our unique mission to solve water scarcity with the best talent and the best lifestyle to support the talent we attract,” said CEO Shannon Stuckenberg. “Our people are heroes, solving hard problems for all humanity. They deserve to live in a city that supports them. In the final analysis, there wasn’t even a close second. Tampa won hands down.”
Several other global companies have shared services operations here, including Bristol Myers Squibb, Citi, Johnson & Johnson, DTCC, Amgen and Pfizer.
Tampa’s growing reputation

HSP’s services include HR personnel with technology, managed services, tax, accounting, legal, mergers and acquisitions, and consulting solutions. Its goal is to help companies expand and manage their international operations.
