The Tampa Bay Innovation Center has chosen seven start-up companies to join its Fourth Annual Accelerator cohort to receive specific training and mentoring designed to help them succeed.
The business incubator, accelerator and co-working entrepreneurial center will work with the companies from now through Oct. 20, after which the start-ups will participate in a showcase for investors, community leaders, media and business partners.
Companies chosen are: Topenga, a governance and risk and compliance company in St. Petersburg; Game Drive, a Tampa-based eSports marketing firm; Sota Signal Analytics, which conducts risk analytics for FinTech, based in Tampa; Kandel, in Marina Del Ray, California, which creates engagement software for HRTech; iSocrates, of St. Pete, which creates planning tools for AdTech; Phronesis Health in Seminole, which creates artificial intelligence software for medical records and natural language programs; and Little Town Solutions in Tampa, which creates innovative software-based instruments for neuropsychological assessment and therapy.
“With the surge of new businesses that were created in late 2020 and early 2021, it is more important than ever to have resources that support early-stage startup,” said Accelerator Managing Director Ken Evans. The chosen startups, he said, are tackling real business problems that will draw the attention of new tech talent and customers to the Tampa Bay startup ecosystem.
Pinellas County and Tampa Bay Ventures are both sponsors for the accelerator program.
