On Monday, July 11, the National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) announced an expansion team coming to Tampa. The new team is called the Tampa Bay Strikers and they will play at Tampa’s Yuengling Center starting December 2022. The NISL is a new league created in 2021. At the moment, there are five teams in the NISL.
The Tampa Bay Strikers
Andrew Haines, Executive Board of Directors, as well as Managing Partner for the Strikers said, “We are excited to grow the NISL and bring professional indoor soccer back to the Tampa Bay area.”
More details about the team will be released in the upcoming months, including head coach, assistant coach, home season schedule, ticketing information, and more.

What is the National Indoor Soccer League?
The National Indoor Soccer League was founded in January 2021 by a group of experienced sports team and league owners. The NISL will compete in a 20 game schedule for the 2022/2023 season. The league operates has both men’s and women’s divisions and fans can able to watch a men’s and women’s game each game day. According to Haines, men and women players are making equal salary and both teams have an equal budget.1

- Fayetteville Fury
- Columbus Rapids
- Rome Gladiators
- Tampa Bay Strikers
