Tampa’s Perry Ellis Distribution Center has filed a WARN notice with the state that it will close its distribution center at 4902 W. Waters Avenue and lay off 114 employees in July.

The layoff notice, or Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, appeared on the state’s website just recently. It is a required notice.

The WARN notice did not list a reason for the closing and no details were available on any severance package for employees.

The center is expected to close July 1, according to the letter submitted to the state. Perry Ellis Human Resources Chief Chris Grebenc wrote that the layoffs will be permanent. The retail store at the same site will remain open.

The Perry Ellis brand distributes and licenses an array of high-quality men’s and women’s apparel, fragrances and accessories.

According to its website, Ellis came out with his first collection in 1976. Today, Perry Ellis is a global brand designed to provide a versatile and adaptable wardrobe for both men and women.
