Before Tina Newby ever entered the real estate business, she knew she wanted to offer something she felt most other realtors did not – being an advocate for both sellers and buyers. And she wanted a new angle.
She came up with a plan to highlight a part of the home people are drawn to – the kitchen.
As part of her sales spiel, Newby now creates culinary delights on her Facebook page to draw in potential buyers.
“I am a mom and I love to cook, so, to me, this all just made sense,” Newby said. Her husband Matthew Newby serves as videographer and her two children help her prep dishes such as apple dumplings, vegan tacos, quick chicken pho and pork limoncello. “I’ve sold a few houses because of it,” she said.
“While I cook, I talk about the house, the location, the kitchen and just speak genuinely about how I would use that kitchen,” she said. “It’s the heart of the home, where all the conversations happen. I brings families together and that is what I want to showcase about the home.”
Newby said she loves doing the videos and plans to keep doing them. “And I love to support our local farmers. During the peach season, I made peach cobbler using local peaches.”
