The City of Tampa invited residents last week to voice their opinions and concerns about the latest West Tampa Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) parking study. This study, which includes resident input as well as relevant research, assesses current parking conditions and potential improvements to enhance the parking experience for CRA visitors, residents, and businesses.

The West Tampa CRA includes the area roughly between the Hillsborough River, and Armenia Avenue, Columbus Drive, and Kennedy Boulevard. This Parking Study will examine existing publicly accessible parking (both on-street and off-street) and make recommendations for the future.

The study began in July 2022 and will conclude this fall. But residents will still have several opportunities to interact with the city and give their thoughts on future parking projects. The City is urging residents to take part in the project by voicing concerns the City has yet to address.

Additional community input will be received through Social Pinpoint, an online forum. The City of Tampa along with its consultants on the project from Pond & Company are also hosting Public Engagement Activities in person and through the Online Materials Interactive Map (available through December 15, 2022).
