The St. Petersburg based company, Takeoff, is revolutionizing how people plan group trips. The app focuses on easing the payment associated with large group events like bachelor parties, large dinners and vacations. The app will allow groups to plan and pay for group trips all in one place. Takeoff app group trips may be the next things in the travel industry.
According to Axios Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg resident Chase Harris got the idea for the app after attending nine bachelor parties in one year. The stress and confusion that comes along with trying to split the bill among a large group of people, inspired him to think of a better solution. Takeoff group trips will avoid all this by allowing groups to book and pay for everything in one places. This can include things like hotels, dinner reservations, transportation, and excursions. Users can invite friends to the app and then everyone can incrementally make payments through the app.
Harris and his team are working with concierge services in the area of these group events to help curate these experiences. They have worked out special terms and pricing, specifically for groups. Harris wants to change how groups travel, “We want to become the next big disruptor in the travel industry,” Harris said. With this much planning, Takeoff app group trips will be specific, trendy and efficient.
The St. Petersburg based company was founded during the COVID pandemic in 2021. It officially launches on February 17, 2022. Hopefully as travel restrictions ease up, the app will find a customer base that is excited to get back to planning group events. The app will launch first in Miami and Las Vegas before expanding to other cities.
