Tampa Fundraiser Helps Animals in Need

Bark in the Park returns on February 12, 2022

Tampa’s annual Bark in the Park fundraiser is back in person this year. This is the 35th year for the fundraiser for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. The Humane Society raises money though this fundraiser to help homeless animals, animals that need medical care and spay/neuter services.

Bark in the Park will take place at Curtis Hixon Park on February 12, 2022. There will be music, food trucks, adoptable dogs, vendors, and pet and family-friendly activities. The main event is a one-mile walk along the Riverwalk. So far, participants have raised over $145,000. The total goal for the event is $155,000.

In order to raise funds for the Humane Society, those taking part in the walk must register with a pack and start fundraising. For those that want to participate but could not fundraise, you can register as a lone wolf and raise funds as you walk as an individual. The deadline for donations is 1 p.m. on February 12.

There are lots of prizes and giveaways to be had at Bark in the Park. There’s even a costume contest where the best dressed pups will be awarded a prize. The categories for the costume contest are “Best Downton Chic”, “Best Pirate Pup”, and “Most Creative.” The costume contest will take place at 12:30 p.m. on February 12.

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay has been helping local animals since 1912. Their mission is to end animal homelessness and provide excellent care to animals in need.
