A Tesla facility will soon be built in St. Pete according to plans submitted to the city. The St. Petersburg suburb, Lealman, will be home to the electric vehicle store. The new facility is expected to bring 50 jobs to the area. Having a store for the electric vehicle pioneer is just another step St. Pete is taking to becoming a nationally known tech hub.
Tesla Facility in St. Pete
According to the Business Observer, plans for the Tesla facility were submitted by developer Rob Truett. The plans show the site location to be a former Kane’s Furniture liquidation center that will be turned into a delivery and repair center. The facility is at 4601 34th Street North.
Next, the plans must be approved by Pinellas County. When they are approved, what was once used for distributing furniture is now going to be used as a Tesla dealership, delivery center and repair facility.

“We’re basically going to convert what was a distribution center built in the mid-1970s to a state-of-the-art Tesla sales, service and delivery center,” adds Rob Truett. “With the exception of the walls, I think we’re touching every aspect of that building.”
The approval process should take two or three weeks and the construction team hopes to break ground in July. The project is expected to provide 50 high-skilled jobs and jobs for service, support and maintenance teams.
