Hurricane season officially starts June 1. The time to prepare is now. If you need to stock up on storm supplies, it helps to buy items tax-free. The 2024 hurricane season has the potential to be a big one so it’s best to be prepared.
The 2024 Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday runs from June 1 through June 14. A second sales tax holiday will begin August 24 and run through Sept. 6.

- Wet dog or cat food if sold individually or the equivalent if sold in a box or case
$15 or less

- Collapsible or travel-sized food or water bowls for pets
- Cat litter pans
- Pet waste disposal bags
- Hamster or rabbit substrate
