Tampa International Airport is now officially ready for the holidays. TPA is decked out with bright lights and music to offset the stress that comes with a busy holiday travel season. The entire airport, from the rental car area to the baggage claim, has some sort of added holiday sparkle. There are almost 200 wreaths and other ornamental finery along the walls. There are also five trees, the largest one being 18 feet tall. You’ll find it in the main terminal.
How TPA eases holiday stress
Last year, the Airport introduced decorations with bold Florida-themed colors of pink and orange.
“I was looking for something different and unconventional,” said Maria Cook, Tampa International Airport’s Marketing Events Manager. It’s her job to make sure the airport looks festive each holiday season. “The colors represent the Florida sunshine and go along well with our new flamingo.”
The airport has trees associated with Christmas, a massive menorah that lights up during Hanukkah and a large kinara in celebration of Kwanzaa.
Airport entertainment
Getting to the airport early can be an exciting prospect during the holidays. It’s a chance to catch some of the live entertainment in the main terminal. The entertainment will be there most afternoons between December 10 and Christmas Eve. From bell ringers to choral groups, there’s sure to be something to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

Performers include Milosz Gasior. He’s a pianist from the Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School. At 2-years-old he was diagnosed with severe autsim. Although he struggles with a severe speech delay, he is able to wow audiences with his musical abilities. He will graduate from high school near the top of his class next year.
