Pinellas County is now accepting applications to fill several appointments on the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board (PCCLB). The PCCLB consists of 15 members from various trades, along with building officials, a fire official and two consumer representatives.
The Board is currently seeking applicants for the following areas:
- Licensed Residential Building Contractor
- Beach Communities Building Official
- Pinellas County Building Official
- Consumer Representative not affiliated with the construction industry
- Registered Architect
- North County Building Official
- Licensed General Contractor
- Licensed Electrical Contractor
All members of the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board are appointed by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) and must be residents of Pinellas County. The BCC will appoint members to four-year terms. Board members may not serve over two consecutive terms but may be reappointed after a two-year hiatus. However, the limitation does not apply to the governmental building official or fire official appointees. The Board must elect a chair and vice chair to serve two-year terms in those positions.

Each Board Member must file an annual limited financial disclosure FORM 1 by July 1 for the prior year, which can be found online. For additional information on limited financial disclosure requirements, visit this site.

What is the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board?
The PCCLB regulates certain construction and home improvement contractors practicing in Pinellas County, including all local municipalities. The agency is supported by the Contractor Licensing Department, which oversees day-to-day administration, records maintenance, and contractor license investigations in the county.
