Ybor Art Contest — The heART of Ybor — Is Looking for Local Artists

The Heart Within by David Bodo.

Calling all artists who are passionate about Ybor City! The Ybor City Community Art Contest — The heART of Ybor — is looking for visual, digital and performance art by people who love Historic Ybor City.

What is the heART of Ybor?

The Ybor City Community Advisory Committee (CAC) and Ybor City Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) introduced the Heart of Tampa campaign in early 2021. The campaign was created to celebrate Ybor’s strong history, diversity, and collective economic impact to the area. As the Heart of Tampa, Historic Ybor City is the essence of Tampa–from the culture to the new businesses that reach success and thrive off of the diversity.

The Ybor Community Art Contest is a continuation of the campaign. In order to take part, applicants must present through artistic expression what Ybor means to them. The art also serves to help draw more creatives to live and work in Ybor.

Here are previous winners from last year:

The winners receive media exposure, featured social media posts, gift cards to local shops and are featured on the Ybor City website. Their art is also displayed in the window of the Ybor City CRA office.
